Nina Smith
Nina Smith, Education Director Logan Square
Where It All Began
Her Early Childhood Education journey started in Kalamazoo Michigan, 11 years ago. She found herself so enchanted by the “little citizens” and their innate curiosity for life that I decided to obtain my B.A. in Child & Family Development. Since she has worked in a genre of positions surrounding Early Childhood and Strengthening Families. Nina enjoyed her most recent leadership role as the Director of ECE at the YWCA, ingrained in the mission of Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women. Her focus as a leader is to empower staff to lean into their strengths to provide a consistent and inviting environment for children to learn through play.
My Favorite Part of it All
Her values — reach back to my family upbringing. Her Grandmother raised her and her siblings to prioritize family. She instilled confidence in centering herself in environments that honor human fellowship and community connectedness. Nina is deeply committed to the Early Education field focused on building authentic relationships with families and children. Serving families allows her to share her lived experiences and strengthen our community. Nina looks forward to getting to know everyone and is honored to spend time with your little ones.
